Look Upon Your Work Mother

Look Upon Your Work Mother is an interdisciplinary project consisting of drawing, photography, video, multimedia sculpture, writing, and performance. I hold personal loss against political recalcitrance to real, often unbearable capitalist, neoliberal, and modern enclosures by way of the critical work of Sylvia Wynter and Jean-Francois Lyotard. The project assembles figures that embody practices and forms of demarcation— familial, cultural, political, religious, and scientific—to point to the manifold and interwoven violences that police the boundaries surrounding the quotidian frame, and the structural legacies that play a role in determining the past, present, and future.
